So, it looks like I’ll be in the big chair this time around, giving Phil a once-in-a-lifetime chance to play, rather than GM.
I’ve had this idea kicking around for a while now: “The Other Rebellion.” Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Leia Organa, they’ve all just become known names as word spreads about the destruction of the first Death Star. Without Bail Organa to moderate them, Mon Mothma and Garm Bel Iblis have had a massive falling out which results in Garm taking his Corellian contingent back to Corellian Space and continuing his own private war on the Empire. A war that needs recruits.
The Characters’ journey will take them through areas that have been mentioned in Star Wars canon, having them brush past the Rebel Alliance but never really working alongside it. I’m thinking of a “Wraith Squadron”esque campaign, with plenty of opportunity for stealth and deception, and some daring escapes.
I’ll be posting the starting documentation soon, so check the Wiki for that in the coming days.
Character creation! Stat your character for level two. It’ll give you the chance to guide your character down the path you want them down, rather than starting out as a pseudo-generic of your starting class. All classes are open except Jedi. This is a Rebellion era game, so the odds of finding a Jedi are phenomenally low. If you want to head down that path later, awesome, we’ll talk. I’ll post the character creation excel sheet soon.
We’ll also be combining the Destiny system with the Background system (Page 16, Rebel Era Campaign Guide). You’ll be able to select a background for your character which will give you additional skills, training, or languages to help you down your chosen path. Your destiny points will be earned, rather than provided at each level. I’ll be providing them for doing something cool that benefits the group, be it something for the website, a prop for our benefit, or something else under the GM’s discretion.
I’d like to be able to start the game after Labor Day, and it’s probably going to be a floating game. Saturdays, Sundays, Mondays… When we can get together to game, we get together to game. It would be nice to have a specific game night, but as we all know, real life gets in the way far too often.
If you’re ready to roll, toss me a message at email@example.com, and we’ll start taLking characters!
